Nick Underwood

Underwood works on modern European and modern Jewish history, with particular research interests focusing on eastern European Jewish immigrant culture in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s, antifascist culture, Yiddish culture, and the political culture of the Popular Front.  A tentative title for his dissertation is "Staging a New Community: Jewish Immigrant Culture in Interwar France, 1920-1940."
