Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies, 2012

Carly came to CU from Greenwood Village, Colorado. She graduated with distinction with Bachelor degrees in both Jewish Studies and International Affairs and a minor in Religious Studies. Carly is currently utilizing her degree in Jewish Studies from CU through her work as Youth Director at Denver's Temple Sinai.

An excellent student, Carly was highly involved with Hillel during her time on campus, serving on the student board, the Shabbat committee and helping run the monthly community service program.  She also served on the Program in Jewish Studies Undergraduate Student Advisory Board.

The Program in Jewish Studies awarded Carly the 2009-2010 Barry and Sue Baer Scholarship in Jewish Studies. This annual scholarship is awarded to the most promising student in the Program in Jewish Studies each year.

During her time at CU, when asked about majoring in Jewish Studies, Carly stated, "My Major in Jewish Studies is an important part of my university education as it helps me apply things I have learned through my 12 years in religious school to contemporary issues like gender and society, international relations, and how Jewish culture incorporates the lessons from the Holocaust and continues to grow and evolve around the world. The classes in the program expand my academic knowledge while helping me apply this knowledge to my personal life and current world issues."
