Prof. Pegelow Kaplan's latest book entitled Taking the Transnational Turn: The German-Jewish Press and Journalism Beyond Borders, 1933-1943 recently appeared (in Hebrew) with Yad Vashem Publications in Jerusalem. In his study, Pegelow Kaplan calls for a rereading of German-Jewish journalism during the Nazi period based on transnational approaches. His work combines theoretical frameworks with a number of case studies from the cross-national transfer of news about rescue and emigration opportunities to the Philippines to transnational networks of German-Jewish journalists in Paris and Berlin during the early 1940s.
