Chelsea WIlson MillerChelsea Wilson Miller, (B.A., International Affairs, and Jewish Studies Valedictorian and Minor, 2014) received a fellowship award from the CUNY School of Law's Sorensen Center for International Peace and Justice, which is a fellowship that aims to equip law students with international experience and expertise to become leaders in the field of international law.

With this fellowship, Chelsea will be working with the United Nations to complete a three month summer internship in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) at The Hague, The Netherlands. She will depart on May 20th to begin her internship.

The ICTY is a United Nations court of law dealing with war crimes that took place during the conflicts in the Balkans in the 1990’s. Chelsea first became interested in post-genocide work from her courses in the Jewish Studies program at CU Boulder. She studied gender-based violence in genocides and mass traumas in her coursework at CU. Equipped with a minor in Jewish Studies and a major in International Affairs, Chelsea writes that "I went on to pursue a Juris Doctor in public international law from the premier public interest law school in the United States: The City University of New York School of Law. I chose CUNY because of their Human Rights and Gender Justice Clinic, where I hope to continue learning about eradicating violence against women globally."

Congratulations, Chelsea on this incredible accomplishment!
