Colorado Sustainability Challenge heads into the final stretch
The Colorado Sustainability Challenge (CSC) is in full swing! During this two-week, hackathon-style event, teams form and work alongside industry experts to impact sustainability issues and take a shot at winning a share of $25,000. CSC is open to all students, faculty and staff at all Colorado Front Range colleges and universities.
Week One started with the CSC Kickoff, which featured opening remarks by Andrew Mayock, CU Boulder vice chancellor for sustainability.
“The state of Colorado is a leader on multiple sustainability fronts, in particular when it comes to the creation of sustainability startups,” Mayock said. “That is due in no small part to the innovative students and researchers on college campuses across the state who continue to create solutions to some of our most pressing issues and activate those solutions through commercialization. I am thrilled to be part of this year’s Colorado Sustainability Challenge and see what exciting new ventures may come next.”
During the first week of the competition, participants attended mentoring sessions and workshops—ranging from developing a vision/mission to running a sustainable business—to help solidify and build out their solutions.
Week Two workshops include funding and developing a road map for success. Pitch prep sessions focus on getting buy-in for the ventures and practice sessions help hone presentation skills.
CSC culminates with the CSC Finals on Sunday, Oct. 12, where selected top teams Selected teams will pitch their solutions for the chance to win a share of $25,000 in prize funding—and the opportunity to create real, lasting change. RSVP Today!
