Software company Nimb.ly alleviates staffing problem for caterers, wins first place in New Venture Challenge 11 IT Track Finals competition
New Venture Challenge Track Finals are underway, and we're excited to announce Nimb.ly as the first NVC 11 Championships finalist!
Competing against eight other teams in the NVC 11 IT Track Finals competition (hosted by Silicon Flatirons), Nimb.ly took home the first place prize and $3,500 after pitching their business idea to a panel of judges and 100 more in attendance. The team is creating a revolutionary software platform that helps catering companies keep their events efficiently staffed.
Nimb.ly CEO and co-founder Brandon Aguirre, an undergraduate engineering senior majoring in computer science, came up with the business idea when he was working for different catering companies in New York City.
"During that time I saw how difficult it was for catering management to schedule a mixture of full-time, part-time, and contracted workforce," Aguirre said. "Now that I am graduating with a degree in computer science and have a passion for building software, I have the knowledge it takes to build a SAAS platform to solve this problem for catering companies."
The other award winners of the IT Track Finals included:
