Madeleine is a PhD student in Computer Science working in the Emotive Computing lab. Her research interests include using deep learning to create models of EEG, heart rate, and other biological signals. Her techniques include using NLP-like approaches for non-language data. She received her BS in Neuroscience and Linguistics from William & Mary in 2021, after which she spent 2021 to 2025 in the Cognitive Psychology program at CU. She switched to the Computer Science department in 2025. Her experience in psychology continues to affect her human-centered approach to computer science.
