Title: Child Speech Recognition in the Classroom


  • Kids should not be relegated to using adult speech technology hand-me-downs that they'll "grow in to". Instead, voice technology should be accurate and appropriate for children's development, and respect the challenges and requirements that are particular to their unique stage of life. As a visiting Fulbright scholar, I'd like to share how we are integrating child speech recognition to TalkBack and the improvements we hope to see by doing so.
