CU Boulder has 30+ fraternities and sororities across four councils. Each offers a different experience:

Understanding Recruitment and Intake

There are two ways students join fraternity and sorority organizations: 

  • Recruitment: A structured process where you attend events to meet members and learn about chapters (Panhellenic and CUIFC). 
  • Intake: A membership process for culturally based organizations that focuses on education, mentorship and community (MGC and NPHC).

CUIFC Recruitment 

Recruitment includes a kickoff event, open house events, preference rounds and Bid Day. Learn more about dates and details for fall 2026 CUIFC recruitment.

MGC and NPHC Intake 

New member intake happens throughout the year. Students join by connecting directly with chapters and completing an interest form: 

Panhellenic Recruitment 

  • Registration closes: Aug. 23 at 11:59 p.m. 
  • Registration is a two-step process: 
    • Complete the application and payment (ICS) 
    • Submit your video interview (VidCruiter)
