Fire Safety Education for Chapter Members

At the beginning of each fall semester, one representative from each Panhellenic sorority that has a housing facility is expected to attend the day long Greek Fire Academy. The purpose of the Academy:

  1. Increase awareness of fire hazards in chapter houses
  2. Increase knowledge and ability to escape from fires
  3. Inform the participant so she can bring the information back to her chapter to inform the membership
  4. Improve the participant’s ability to prevent fires
  5. Better understand and appreciate the work of the fire service

This highly interactive program empowers student leaders to become knowledgeable in fire safety as it relates to living in a housing facility. Students are expected to share the information learned during the Academy with their chapter membership.
