The Mutlicultural Greek Council at the University of Colorado Boulder is comprised of four fraternities and three sororities.
Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity was founded on April 4, 1986, at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, by 18 men who recognized the need to unify the Latino community. Sigma Lambda Beta’s stated mission is to nurture and further a dynamic, values-based environment which utilizes their fraternity as a catalyst to better serve the needs and wants of all people. Sigma Lambda Beta has grown to more than 120 collegiate entities spanning 30 states from coast to coast.
Pi Delta Psi Fraternity Inc.
Pi Delta Psi Fraternity was founded at the Binghamton University on February 20, 1994, on the campus of Binghamton University. Pi Delta Psi was founded on four pillars: academic achievement, cultural awareness, righteousness and friendship/loyalty. Pi Delta Psi seeks to unify the Asian-American community by breaking down cultual barriers and increasing awareness of Asian cultures to overcome racism.
Tau Psi Omega Fraternity was founded on the campus of Arizona State University on September 14, 1996, by 12 men who recognized the need for interaction amongst diverse backgrounds on college campuses. Tau Psi Omega is committed to providing service to the community for the good of humanity and world. Tau Psi Omega strives to promote and instill the values of honor, unity, diversity, servitude, faith and knowledge.
Beta Gamma Nu Fraternity was founded on January 15, 1997, on the campus of the University of Southern California by seven visionary men who saw a need for students who were not being represented by the Greek system. Beta Gamma Nu seeks to teach the value of culture, education, brotherhood, respect for life, community and family.
Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority was founded at the University of Colorado Boulder on March 5, 1994, by 14 women who saw a need to create a strong sisterhood and an educational support network for women on college campuses. Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority seeks to preserve Latina/o culture and history, as well as to promote education and community service in the Latina/o communities surrounding their campuses.
Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc.
Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority was formaly established at the University of Albany, State University of New York on March 23, 1994. Sigma Psi Zeta provides a means for young women, particularly women of color, to grow and develop well-rounded skills and ambitions for life after college. The national philanthropy of Sigma Psi Zeta is to combat violence against women in its varied forms. Sigma Psi Zeta advocates for the education, development, liberation and growth of women everywhere, particularly women of color.
Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority was founded on the campus of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, on April 9, 1990, by five collegiate women who saw a need to empower women of all cultural backgrounds. Sigma Lambda Gamma recognizes the need for togetherness and support among women of varying cultures at the university level and remain dedicated to the overall success of women in a global environment. Sigma Lambda Gamma is a sisterhood of women who have chosen this affiliation as a manner to achieve personal development and awareness to the responsibility of community involvement for the betterment of local, regional, national and global communities through the efforts of a network of thousands of sorority members.
