CTL’s Fall Intensive – August 17, 18, 19

The Center for Teaching & Learning supports the development of graduate students as teaching scholars. CTL's Fall Intensive is an annual workshop series designed to help you teach at CU Boulder, provide opportunities for professional development, and explore nonacademic jobs. TAs, GPTIs, RAs, graduate students on fellowships, other graduate students, and instructors of all levels are invited to participate. Register here.

Grad+ Writing Retreat –  August 22, 23, 24, 25 @ 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., CASE, Room E422

Join other graduate students for a writing retreat that will provide the time, community, and accountability to focus on your academic writing goals. Brief programming will be followed by dedicated writing time each day. Register here.

Grad+ Endurance Intensive – August 29, 30, 31 @ 9 – 11 a.m. via Zoom

During this three-day workshop, you will learn how to create sustainable habit structures, get an overview on accountability styles, and dive into how your personality type/tendencies influence your productivity. This retreat is a great introduction or refresher to our weekly Grad+ Endurance Seminar Series that are offered in the fall, spring and summer. Register here.

Graduation Deadlines

August 1, 2022
Doctoral grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters.

August 2, 2022
Master's thesis plan students must submit the thesis and Thesis Approval Form to ProQuest by this deadline. The thesis must be submitted electronically for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.

August 8, 2022
Master’s grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous semesters.

August 29, 2022
Deadline to update diploma name and address for summer graduates.

Planning to have your degree awarded in summer 2022? Ensure that you have met all previous graduation deadlines on the Graduate School website.

Need to change your previous graduation plans? Be sure to apply online to graduate anew through Buff Portal for December or a future term.

Funding Opportunities & Deadlines

The Graduate School Student Travel Grant offers partial funding for CU Boulder graduate students to present their work at meetings or conferences outside Colorado. The Graduate School provides a travel grant of $300 for domestic conferences and $500 for international conferences. The application for travel occurring 9/1/22-12/31/22 will be open Aug. 16, 12:01 a.m. –  Aug. 18, 11:59 p.m. (MST).
