This week the GPSG Assembly passed a resolution regarding graduate and professional student compensation. The resolution has been shared with CU Boulder campus and CU System leadership.
The resolution calls on CU Boulder to:
- Work towards increasing the stipend income for graduate and professional students on appointments to match or exceed that of aspirational peer institutions, adjusted for cost of living in the Boulder community.
- Evaluate and revise graduate student stipends annually to proportionally align stipend amounts to Boulder’s cost of living, as determined by the federal government.
- The University of Colorado shall continue to offer financial support to faculty paying graduate students whose current funding may not accommodate increased pay for graduate students.
- The University of Colorado shall protect graduate student stipends and regular stipend increases against cuts in times of economic hardship.
