Jonathan is a geotechnical engineer by training with a passion for using statistics and probability to understand natural hazard risk and how to design resilient infrastructure to meet the performance needs of the 21st century. In his Master’s work, he helped develop new methods for building probabilistic liquefaction triggering models. Before coming to Boulder, he worked for several years for a consulting geotechnical engineering firm in Southern California.
Jonathan joined CU Boulder as a PhD student in Fall 2022 and he is co-advised by Prof. Torres-Machi and Prof. Shideh Dashti.
In his free time, Jonathan enjoys running and hiking, going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, or relaxing with a good book.
