Katie Chambers

Katie was born and raised in San Francisco and attended California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo, where she graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering (2016). She is a recipient of a U.S. Department of Education Graduate Assistantships in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship. Katie has a passion for international development, which stems from her undergraduate involvement in Engineers Without Borders, and she is currently pursuing a graduate track in Engineering for Developing Communities. Her research focuses on the resiliency of sanitation infrastructure in developing communities, and during the Summer 2017 she will be working with the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre to study flooding impacts in Ethiopia. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, skiing, backpacking, and traveling.
