A Brief Biography

I was born in Tehran and grew up in Ardabil, a city northwest of Iran. I completed my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in “Hydraulic Structures” from K.N.Toosi University of Technology, Tehran. In 2012, I moved to the United States in order to pursue a Master of Science in “Structural Mechanics” and a Doctorate in “Earthquake Engineering” from the University of Colorado at Boulder. From June 2015 to Dec 2019, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate emphasizing the structural safety assessment of nuclear power plants and dam safety subjected to multi-hazard (e.g., aging and shaking). From 2016 to 2023, I worked as a lecturer at CU. In January 2020, I joined NIST (through UMD) as a researcher. Since 2023, I am a research affiliate with CU, Boulder.
