A native of Louisville, KY, Alan is a passionate, versatile educator and performing musician. Receiving his Bachelor’s in Music Education at the University of Louisville and his Master’s in Violin Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado Boulder, Alan has taught orchestra in K-12 and undergraduate programs and performed in competitive orchestras and festivals throughout the country; he maintains a small private studio and performing career.
Alan is eager to return to CU Boulder to continue and expand his role in developing students’ academic and personal careers, just as his mentors and teachers did for him during his graduate work at CU.
In his free time, Alan enjoys rock climbing, hiking, learning new instruments, cooking, spending time with his partner Regina, and taking pictures of his two cats, Biscotti and Streusel.
