Peer advisor highlight: Cammie Fowler

Cammie Fowler: Business administration major and University Exploration & Advising Center peer advisor

Hello, my name is Cammie, and I am a junior studying business administration at the Leeds School of Business. I am also completing the space minor. I chose the space minor because I wanted to broaden my experiences and gain knowledge in a unique field. The space minor is 15 credits, and it provides a holistic understanding of space. This includes the scientific, political and artistic aspects of the space industry.

Advice

One piece of advice I would give to students is to try something new and explore your options. For example, when I was a freshman I took a few different arts and science classes that helped me decide to pursue the space minor.

Trying new things is critical in order to find an academic path that suits you. My favorite class so far has been SCAN 2202: The Vikings, it was really interesting, and the professor was stellar.

Peer advisors are a great resource

Peer advisors are current CU Boulder students who can you help with:

  • Navigating the enrollment system
  • Figuring out how to set up your class schedule
  • Referrals for holds and to-do items you have in your student portal
  • Recommending courses
  • Sharing academic experiences

Look for peer advisor biographies in CU Boulder Today throughout the semester! You can talk with a peer advisor 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday–Friday in CASE (east building, second floor). You can also email questions to UEACAdvising@colorado.edu to get help from a peer advisor.
