Surviving group projects

Group projects can be challenging. You may or may not have a choice in who your group members are, and you may find you have very different learning and work styles.

To set yourself up for success on a group project, it is important to lay some ground rules:

  • Before you begin working, agree on deadlines and divvy up the work.
  • Schedule check-in meetings at the beginning, middle and end of the project timeline.
  • If you have a conflict with one of your group members, try to address it immediately and with a positive approach.
