Although Matthew isn’t a major sports fan himself, he cheers for the idea of a home team. His research expands upon the transnational, ethnic, racial, and gendered boundaries of “home" and “team" throughout the life-course of one’s identity formation, transition, and exit from physical activity. He seeks to interrogate the idea of the Great Sport Myth and unsettle the fields of Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sports for Development and Peace, and the intersections of health and fitness.
