Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer Sophie Weston Chien will sit on a panel at the MIT Museum today to speak about her design collaborative’s large-scale textile series, Soft City. Starting Jan. 17, her work will be featured in The Threads That Tie Us, a show at the Arts Collaborative Medford in Massachusetts.  

Assistant Professor Elena Sabinson and her colleague Kati Peditto, PhD presented at AIA Colorado’s Generate 2024 Practice + Design Conference in Keystone, Colorado on Nov. 12 to 15. Their presentation was centered around designing neuro-inclusive and accessible spaces.  

Associate Teaching Professor Azza Kamal presented A Qualitative Review of Supportive Service in Housing First PSH Program at the 64th Annual Conference of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning in Seattle. Last month, Kamal presented a cross-disciplinary lecture on the Semiotics of Arabic Calligraphy & Poetic Inferences in Traditional & Contemporary Architecture at the Arabic Language Program, Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations Fall Lecture Series.

Associate Teaching Professor Emily Greenwood was recognized as a 2024 Women Who Make a Difference. Teaching Professor Jade Polizzi nominated Greenwood as an outstanding educator who has made an extraordinary impact on her students and for her contribution to the ENVD community. Greenwood’s students develop strong skills in landscape architecture and acquire valuable life lessons that contribute to their personal growth. Her kindness, patience and empathy resonate deeply with students and colleagues alike.
