Location: Continental Divide in Colorado

Bluebird Backcountry is the first and only fully human-powered, inbounds backcountry ski area in the country. With a mission to make backcountry skiing safer and easier to learn, it's operation features a 1,200-acre avalanche-evaluated and ski-patrolled area with zero chairlifts. Guests go to try backcountry skiing, develop their backcountry skills, and explore new terrain in a relatively safe, welcoming, social, and COVID-friendly backcountry environment. In short, they are leading the charge in backcountry-lite by bringing together the comforts of a ski resort, the expertise of a guide service, and the adventure of the true backcountry. They are located on the Continental Divide in Colorado, halfway between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs (just over a 30-minute drive from both). Their team has a welcoming, energetic, get-it-done culture. They're excited to introduce a new way to think about skiing… and to see just how far they can take the Bluebird Backcountry concept.

Bluebird Backcountry is hiring an awesome team to get it's first full season up and running. Over the past three years, it's had the support of an incredible network of volunteers who run many of their day-to-day business functions. This winter they will be enhancing that team with a dedicated paid staff.

Visit their website to learn more about their open positions. Some are employee positions, some contract. Some are part-time, some full-time seasonal, and others fall somewhere in between.
