As a rising senior majoring in English Literature and Sociology and minoring in Ethnic Studies, Lauren is fascinated by the intersections that emerge by taking an interdisciplinary approach to literature. As an aspiring professor in Afro-Diasporic Literature, she is interested in applying non-Western contemporary theory to canonical works as exemplified in this paper in hopes to bridge the ever-present binary that persists in many school curriculums today. Outside of literature, she is involved in the English Honors Program, Honors Scholars Program, and Honors Journal as she enjoys staying active in the community.
