I am originally from a small town in Southern Arkansas called Prescott, and after experiencing just about every nook and cranny of my home state, I decided to move to Colorado in 2023. I have a deep love for my communities back home and most of my work is in honor and service to them!

My focus includes 20th and 21st century American Literature, specifically Queer, Black, and Southern stories. I take a historical criticism approach to literature and am curious about the movements, ideologies, and experiences of the working class. I intend to pursue a career as a Professor of Literature and am interested in producing public facing scholarship and creating educational infrastructure to help bridge the current divide between academia and the working class.

Some of my interests include movies, concerts, birds, fishing, dancing, camping, video games, and laying around in parks and fields with some good friends! As a somewhat newer Coloradan, I am beginning to pick up climbing, backpacking, and fly fishing. A surprising fact about me is that I do love reading, and some of my favorite authors include James Baldwin, John Steinbeck, and Mary Oliver!
