Hope Ruskaup is a senior majoring in English Literature, though she plans to pursue an MFA in poetry following her undergraduate degree. She is extremely grateful to have the role of Editor in Chief for the University of Colorado Honors Journal, as well as the opportunity to continue working on her thesis, which considers the drug trade’s vehement intervention in globalized capitalism and the ways in which the war on drugs maps the tensions of globalization and the perpetuation of inequalities between the global North and South. Hope enjoys spending her free time mostly outdoors or in her hometown of Denver, Colorado. She is extremely grateful to have been selected the recipient of the Curtis Michael Gimeno Memorial Scholarship and for the opportunities it will afford her.
