Etkin Hanson

Etkin Hanson is a Turkish-American writer and literary translator. She has a PhD in English Literature from Florida State University and an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her translations of the collected short stories of the Turkish writer Memduh Şevket Esendal is forthcoming Fall 2026. The book is supported by a full grant from the Turkish Ministry of Culture. Etkin’s original fiction has appeared in the Kenyon Review, Sonora Review, Quarterly West, Meridian, Blackbird and elsewhere.
