Cooper Casale

Cooper Casale is a PhD candidate in English literature. His work examines the affective engineering of reactionary political movements. His current project examines fascism not as a specific political or economic state of affairs but rather as an inconsistent and chaotic set of embodied practices and positions. He has published articles in The Journal of Wyndham Lewis Studies, The Journal of Popular Culture, Science Fiction Film & Television, The Helsinki Notebooks, and Enculturation: a Journal of Writing, Rhetoric, and Culture.
In addition to his critical work, he has published poetry and fiction in nationally circulating magazines such as storySouth, New South Journal, and The Chattahoochee Review, and his music has seen multiple short-run cassette releases, most recently from LA-based label FREAKS. His work examining the American sitcom The Office and its neoliberal commitments has recently been featured in Colorado Arts and Sciences Magazine.
He received his BA in English literature from the University of Georgia, his MFA in poetry from Georgia College & State University, and his MA in English literature from the University of Tulsa.
