Aimee Anderson’s confidence boosted, thanks to creative writing award
Aimee Anderson is a junior majoring in English Literature and minoring in Leadership Studies and TAM (Technology, Arts, and Media). She is a Norlin Scholar and has a passion for writing. She specifically loves writing poetry and spends a great deal of her time doing so. Additionally, Aimee enjoys editing and is currently the Managing Editor for the CU Honors Journal. She is also the Co Editor-in-Chief of CU’s student run Walkabout Creative Arts Journal. When not spending her time on these two journals, Aimee works as a tutor and also as an Office Assistant in the Engineering Center at CU. She also began scooping ice cream at Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato this summer and loves Caramel Oreo ice cream almost as much as she loves hot chocolate (which is A LOT). Aimee loves to travel and is excited to study abroad this spring in either England or Scotland (to be determined!). In continuing to foster her love for reading and writing, Aimee plans to pursue a career in publishing after she graduates. In her free time, Aimee enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and spending time with her family’s three perfect dogs.
“I was extremely surprised and pleased when I discovered that I had won this scholarship prize. I had never submitted my poetry to any kind of writing contest before and was nervous to show others my work. I am so glad that I did and can’t begin to explain how helpful this scholarship prize will be during this next academic year. Not only is this prize helping me pay for school, but it has boosted my confidence as a writer.”
