Jon is pursuing a PhD in Education and is a Doctoral Student Researcher with the National Education Policy Center. His research interests are at the intersection of education policy and anti-discrimination law. As a public education advocate, Jon’s current work examines the legal, policy, and civil rights implications of the retreat from public schools into private institutions. Jon holds an M.A. in Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. Jon’s path as an educator began in music, during which time he worked with students at the 6-12 level. In 2014, he transitioned to working in higher education. Prior to his appointment with the School of Education, Jon held a variety of roles with the undergraduate Office of Admissions.
