Ashley West

Ashley joins the School of Education with a strong background in higher education and human resources. An alumna of the University of New Mexico and University of Nebraska, she holds a bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Organizational Science and Leadership. Her career includes roles at the University of Nebraska and, most recently, within CU Boulder’s College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS).

At CEAS, Ashley oversaw a wide range of HR and operational responsibilities, including serving as a strategic partner to CEAS programs, providing guidance and support on recruitments, onboarding, performance management, graduate student recruitment and onboarding, faculty and staff HR administration, facilities logistics, event planning and HR compliance. In addition, she led efforts to improve HR practices through special projects focused on mentoring, cross-training, onboarding models, and professional development programs—enhancing both operational effectiveness and employee experience. Ashley also served as Secretary and Parliamentarian on the Engineering Staff Council. Her passion for leadership, strategic operations, innovation, and creating positive organizational cultures is evident in every aspect of her work.

Ashley brings with her a deep understanding of HR on this campus and her experience and skillset will be a tremendous asset to our HR operations—enhancing process efficiencies, records management, payroll, employee engagement, and strengthening partnerships across teams.
