Faculty: Please plan on having your final exam dates in AIM available to students as soon as possible and inform your students when the finals date is available to request. Please note: space is extremely limited during finals and is likely to reach capacity before the deadline. Please make alternative plans for your students with 1.5x extended time and Distraction Reduced Environment accommodations.
Students: Confirm with your instructors if the Student Testing Center is needed. Submit your final exam date requests by Sunday, Nov. 15.
Temporary Office Closure: Nov. 20-25
The Disability Services office (N200) will be physically closed Nov. 20-25 due to facility improvements. Disability Services will remain operational remotely during this time, and staff will continue to be available by email, phone and virtual meetings for assistance.
Students, faculty and staff may continue to contact Disability Services through the office's regular email and phone channels. In-person services in N200 will resume after the closure.
Join the Beta Test for HET: Wearable Assistive Technology
The HET is a groundbreaking wearable device designed to support individuals who are blind, low vision or on the autism spectrum by providing real-time insights into nonverbal communication cues (NVC) during social interactions. Using AI and computer vision, HET translates facial expressions, gestures and body language captured by an embedded camera into dynamic haptic sensations on a wearable sleeve, allowing users to intuitively interpret emotions and actions like smiles, handshakes or waves. Developed with user feedback to ensure accuracy and ease of use, HET empowers users to navigate social interactions confidently, improving opportunities in both personal and professional settings. If you'd like to be part of this innovative journey and help shape the future of assistive technology, join our beta testing program today!
