CTP Mission

The Conservative Thought and Policy Program began in 2013 as a way to promote intellectual diversity on the CU-Boulder campus. The initiative, which is supported entirely by private funds, seeks highly visible scholars who are deeply engaged in either the analytical scholarship or practice of conservative thinking and policymaking or both.

Visiting scholars may hold the title for one or two years. They are expected to teach a load commensurate with his or her field and offer public lectures, public seminars and/or informal discussions with students and the public. While on campus, the visiting scholar brings in prominent members of the conservative intellectual community from around the country for a day at CU-Boulder; the guests of the program give lectures that are free and open to the public.

Applicants may come from academic, military, media or policy communities. The selection of visiting scholars is made by members of the Executive and Advisory Boards of the Center for Western Civilization, Thought and Policy, including a mix of faculty and community members.
