Modern Love: Submit Your Story

The Conference on World Affairs (CWA) human condition program committee invites University of Colorado students to submit their own stories of modern love for incorporation in a performance during the 2021 CWA week (April 5-11).

Each essay should be around 500-800 words, should have a title or a subject heading. Authors should identify themselves, but can choose to remain anonymous when the story is shared with CWA audience. Essays should not have been previously published and edits may be requested in consultation with the author. Selected stories will be performed and recorded by  University of Colorado Theatre & Dance studens (in collaboration with the author) to be posted on the CWA YouTube channel and shared with our audiences during CWA week.

The series of performances will conclude with a facilitated virtual discussion between select authors and past CWA speaker, CU alumnus, author and social scientist, Ty Tashiro to discuss the challenges, triumphs and shared experiences of their stories. The discussion will be held via zoom livestreamed to YouTube, time and date to be announced.

Submissions will be accepted through March 10, 2021 and authors will contacted shortly afterward to confirm if the essay has been selected to be featured. Any University of Colorado student (from any campus) may submit essays for consideration. Please email cwapress@colorado.edu with any questions.
