Ty Tashiro is an author, speaker and social scientist. He is the author of Awkward: The Science of Why We’re Socially Awkward and Why That’s Awesome, in which he explains why some of the same characteristics that make people feel socially awkward can be the same traits that propel them toward extraordinary achievements.
His first book, about the science of choosing a great long-term mate, was titled, The Science of Happily Ever After. He has been featured in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Time, NPR and SIRIUS XM Stars. He received his PhD in psychology from the University of Minnesota and has been an award-winning professor at the University of Maryland and the University of Colorado.
