Mike Gooseff

Mike Gooseff standing in dry landscape in Antarctics
Scientist and engineer
University of Colorado Boulder

  • Trips to Antarctica: 14
  • Studying: Streams
  • Discovered: Abrupt, short-lived events caused by climate warming might contribute as much as higher temperatures to long-term changes to Antarctica’s ecosystems.
  • Amazed that: The landscape is so big! He might have known it, but there’s really no way to understand, except to experience it.
  • Said: “The world is connected in ways that we may not have expected and it’s more connected than we expected.”
  • Fun fact: He just turned 46 years old and got his first tattoo. (He won’t say where.)
