Programs & Virtual Activities

We organize activities and programs that dive deeply into the ideas behind, and questions raised by, our exhibitions and collections. We also create programs to explore the creative research occurring throughout the university. Whether gallery talks, faculty lectures, expert conversations, concerts, performances, or workshops we welcome students and the public to join us for our free programs at the museum and around CU's campus. Stay tuned and check back, we’re always cooking up exciting new programs!

Artist Performance: The Seventh Course

Saturday, November 8th from 1–2pm at the CU Art Museum

Join us for a performance by artists Zelda & Georgia B as part of Shaping Time: CU Ceramics Alumni 2000-2020.

The Seventh Course continues Zelda & Georgia B’s exploration of material behavior and the porous boundary between object and body. Performed in relation to A Narrowing Corridor: A Cultivated Atmosphere, the work traces a slow transformation in which balance and gravity act as collaborators. Frozen forms embody a quiet tension—poise yielding to exhaustion. As balance gives way to gravity, the scene lingers between presence and disintegration—an afterimage of forces shared between bodies, objects, and the spaces that hold them.

Light refreshments will be served following the performance.

This program is free and all are welcome!

Feel Good Fridays Guided Meditation

You are invited to this weekly hybrid workshop to learn about a work of art and then participate in a related mindfulness practice. You are welcome to join us in the museum galleries in person or virtually via Zoom. The powerful, guided meditation can undo stress, soothe the nervous system, and help you feel relaxed and revitalized. If practiced regularly, the meditation teaches a method for feeling calm, easeful, and resilient, even when facing life’s challenges. Meditations are open to students, faculty, staff, and the public. All are welcome and there is no need for past experience with meditation. Registration is required if attending virtually. All sessions begin promptly at 12:15.
