Ynigo Velayo
LPC

Yñigo Velayo is a multiracial Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist. He was born and raised in the Philippines and has a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University.  He joined the CAPS Substance Abuse Services Team in 2007. Yñigo teaches Focus on Alcohol Concerns (FAC) classes and facilitates STARS (Striving To Achieve Real Success) groups. Drawing on his skills and interests as a researcher, he also develops program evaluations for FAC and STARS.  Yñigo has training and experience in working with individuals who are diverse in their cultural and ethnic background, sexual orientation, class, age and other areas.

Yñigo enjoys working with the students at CU because he believes that with this age group, small changes made now can have large effects down the road.
