Located on Colorado Avenue near the engineering center and math building, CU Boulder is moving forward with a new on-campus housing community. The project expands on-campus living opportunities while intentionally prioritizing respectful design and neighborhood considerations.
The new on-campus housing is intentionally designed to:
- Support student success by expanding on-campus living options, reducing pressure on Boulder’s housing market
- Reduce commuting impacts by making it easier for student housing residents to walk, bike, and connect to campus resources

4.5-acre site for new residential community
Approx. 450 units in a mix of suite-style and apartment-style housing
Housing for approximately 1,650 students
3–4 floors on the neighborhood-facing side
7–8 floors along Colorado Avenue
Setbacks and landscaped buffers between the project and nearby homes
No balconies
Limited vehicle access and no circulation along northern site boundary

The new Colorado Avenue student housing community is designed to bolster the success rates of its students through improved housing solutions on-campus, and also meet CU Boulder’s energy and sustainability goals.
