A Message from the CNAIS Interim Director, Leila Gomez

Dear CNAIS community, allillanchu!
It is an honor to step in as interim director after Andy’s second term. He was an extraordinary leader for the Center. I hope to serve the CNAIS community with the same passion and dedication.
For the past five years I have enthusiastically worked on carving out a space for Indigenous languages at CU Boulder and will continue to do so as interim director, being always mindful that Indigenous languages are intertwined with land, knowledge, and spirituality.
I am grateful to the Vice Chancellor for Native American Affairs, Benny Shendo, CNAIS external and internal boards, our Office Manager Lila Crank, our new graduate student assistant, Revaline Nez, and the CNAIS community for joining me on this new and exciting pathway. Please stay tuned for our robust calendar of events, call for grant applications, invited speakers, and announcements over the spring semester, and always feel welcome to reach out with any comments or questions.
