CMCI Now magazine: Introducing CMDI

We’ve been talking about CMCI’s integration with the environmental design department at CU Boulder for several years. It’s so exciting to be able to share a key milestone with our alumni and friends.

The latest issue of the CMCI Now magazine is all about our future. On July 1, CMCI will add ENVD students into our college and become the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information, an exciting development that recognizes the role design plays in connecting countless industries and disciplines—news, technology and data science, urban design, business, communication, real estate, sustainability, nonprofit, storytelling, public service and more. It promises to be a game-changer for research and creative collaboration while offering students new academic, professional development and extracurricular opportunities that will set them up for long-term professional success.

I know you have questions about how these two areas fit together. We have a great feature with alumni, student and faculty voices explaining the change that should answer your questions and demonstrate the enthusiasm on campus for the CMDI name. I also invite you to check out this online FAQ to learn more.

I’m so excited for what awaits us as CMDI. On behalf of the college, thank you for your continued support of our mission and what we do to create the best possible experience, and outcomes, for our students, alumni and faculty.

Warm regards,
Lori Bergen
Founding Dean
