Thank you for your interest in the Department of Classics, whose award-winning faculty are animated equally by teaching our students (in the classroom and in the field) and by advancing our understanding of the ancient world and the role that it plays in contemporary society. Our community of scholars, students, and friends are fascinated by the continued relevance of the language, literature, history, and material culture of the ancient world of the Mediterranean and beyond. We owe a great debt to our donors and friends, who have helped us to support students, to bring together distinguished speakers to our campus, to conduct innovative and impactful research, and to communicate our research findings to a broader audience. Please consider making a gift to the Classics department in one of the following areas:
Our general gift fund is used primarily to support undergraduate and graduate students.

Brač Island Project
This project, beginning in the summer of 2021, is a long-term collaboration with the University of Split that focuses on the island of Brač in southern Croatia (Dalmatia). The Brač Island Project will explore the archaeology of the island’s coastal regions from ca. 1000 BC-600 AD through both excavation and field survey.
