Najely received her B.A. in Anthropology with a concentration in archaeology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2025. As a Mellon Mays fellow, her research examined the use and reinterpretation of Roman iconography in the mummy portraits of women from Roman Egypt. Najely’s research interests include cross-cultural contact, the funerary art of women, and ancient notions of identity and ethnicity.
