Civil Engineering

Victor Galotti is a PhD student in Civil Engineering, focusing on Engineering for Developing Communities (EDC) and Construction Engineering & Management (CEM). Victor came back to CU Boulder in 2018 after gaining ten years of experience in the industry, leading and delivering multidisciplinary engineered and constructed projects in complex operating facilities. During that time, he took on ever-increasing responsibilities and roles as Program Manager, Project Manager, Engineering and Construction Manager, and Project Controls SME. This hands-on experience helped Victor gain expertise in all project phases, from conceptual design and feasibility studies to project planning, detailed engineering, and final execution, including commissioning and startup. His leadership focused on integrating and empowering diverse and multidisciplinary teams, and securing collaborative commitments to achieve improved results, effectively delivering every single project on time, on budget and with zero EH&S recordable incidents.

Victor has presented twice at the Construction Industry Institute Annual Conference, in 2015 and 2017, on innovation and high-efficiency teams. He also collaborated with the Lean Construction Institute, Portland, OR Chapter, as Board of Advisors Member and Guest Speaker from 2013-2017.

In his spare time, Victor loves music and dancing, traveling internationally, photography, and cooking. He also loves the outdoors and often goes climbing and mountaineering, backpacking and hiking.
