Environmental Engineering

John is a Master's Candidate in Environmental Engineering at the Mortenson Center. He brings four years of non-profit work experience, including street-homeless outreach with Breaking Ground in New York City, and staffing the Ready to Work transitional housing site in Boulder. As a Student Assistant with the Mortenson Center, John helps maintain the Center's website and assists with communications. Previously, John has worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, including in a rural, low-resource setting.

John was raised in Richmond, Virginia, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia in 2015. John's professional interests include stormwater management, remediation, climate adaptation, and the intersection of environmental and human health. In his free time, John enjoys backpacking, cycling, and swimming in icy Colorado waters.
