Five years ago, I traveled to Europe with my family. We went to the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Austria. Our adventure gave me a new perspective on the world as it showed me how other cultures live their lives. I got to immerse myself in the different languages and living styles that people adopt there. We walked around and enjoyed everything unique about each country, seeing how much each country has to offer; for example, the prevalent bikes in Amsterdam make the streets extremely lively. Seeing what each place has to offer makes me want to connect with other cultures. The experiences that I have had show me what I hope to achieve in life and what I hope to help others achieve. They have helped me leave my shell and broaden my mind, which will help me connect with others and their experiences in the Global Engineering RAP.
I am enthusiastic about living in a college dorm as it will steer my life in a new direction. I believe this direction would be most positively affected in the Global Engineering RAP, living amongst those who share similar interests with me. In regards to someone who lives down the hall from me, I would prefer someone who is friendly and welcoming, helping ease my transition into college life. I would also enjoy having people that are willing to talk and go places outside of school, giving me an opportunity to make friends that live just down the hall. All I really hope for in a neighbor is that they provide a welcoming environment in which I feel accepted and comfortable to be around. To me, it doesn’t matter what they look like or what they believe in. I just hope to get to know more people around me that share similar interests and have similar goals in life, as it will broaden and brighten my overall journey in engineering and in life.
Throughout high school, I have always been intrigued by science. I strived to succeed in my science classes, as I have known from the beginning of high school that I would pursue a career in the sciences. I have come to realize that all science affects the world around us, so I plan to make a difference in the scientific world, no matter how big or small, that will affect myself and others around me in a positive way. I believe that my love for science will help me develop as a global engineer, as it will allow me to help develop modern technologies that advance the human population. I trust that being a part of this program will show me positive ways to use my creative thinking in ways that help people in need. I hope that it can carry me into a career that helps improve the overall lives of others and make a positive impact on the world. I hope to contribute my love for science and my hard work to the Global Engineering Rap so I can help others solve problems and work together as a team to develop humanity. Also, being a part of the Global Engineering RAP at CU will help my passion flourish, allowing me to be a part of a safe community that accepts who I am. I believe the Global Engineering RAP is a great fit for me as I will prove to be a great aspect of the team, and I believe it will show me where my future truly lies in the world of Engineering.
