In January of 2022, I flew to Tel Aviv, Israel for four-months with the purpose of completing a financial technology internship and exposing myself to Israeli Jewish culture. I am also taking Hebrew classes here. This experience will, without a doubt, prepare me for my ventures in the Global Engineering RAP. I will experience a heavy culture shock, learn to live and work in a completely foreign place, and navigate through an innovative environment different from that of the US. Not only that, but I will also be learning about innovative start up businesses and the cutting edge technology they offer.. As far as experiences go, I could not have had a greater opportunity to prepare myself for the Global Engineering RAP.

I am an outgoing, curious, personable individual who flourishes in a stressful environment. Combining my technological skills in robotics, computer science, and computer-aided design with my creativity and liveliness, I am more than ready to pursue a rigorous, otherworldly program. I can’t even describe my excitement when I think of the opportunities I will have the chance to take advantage of after gaining the knowledge and experience that the Global Engineering RAP will uniquely offer.
My first friends at CU will likely be people living in the same hallway as me in the Global Engineering RAP. Once I get to college, there will be some specific things I look for in people that I hope to become friends with. I've been told that the friends one meets in college tend to be the ones that last a lifetime, so I should probably pick out the ideal cluster. Given that through the Global Engineering RAP I’ll be with fellow engineering majors, I think it's safe to assume that I'll meet some of the classic engineering stereotypes, and I can definitely see myself adopting a few as friends.

Firstly, there must be some irritatingly sarcastic person whom I'll have a rather hard time winning over. If I'm able to, however, this person will make an incredibly loyal and entertaining friend.

I also hope to meet the person who's clearly a substantial amount smarter than myself and the rest of our hall mates. Not only will I be able to piggyback off of this person academically, but just being around him/her often will give me the opportunity to learn. Being able to keep someone like that around for my entire life would be a blessing.

A good addition to the roster would definitely be the person who doesn't know why the hell he/she decided to major in engineering. After getting into the Global Engineering RAP at CU, it'll be clear that this person is well rounded and intelligent, but just hasn't found his/her passion. The fun part of this for myself and the rest of the group will be to show this kid why engineering was the right choice, but not before revealing that none of us have any clue as to why we ended up here.

I'm sure I'll meet plenty of great people that don't quite fit a stereotype belonging to engineering majors. What I'm excited for most is that I honestly have no idea what most of these people will be like, and that makes me all the more excited. I won't be able to know who I want living down the hall from me until those people are actually there proving that I'm glad to be there with them.
I have been told that I possess a young soul, eager to learn and experience. I consider this an accurate description of my personality. Of course, even through a “traditional” residential college program I will learn and experience many new things. However, I am also a person who seeks the world untrodden and unknown. I have been to some college campuses and I know a great deal about what my college life will look like through a regular program.

I hold many anticipations of my experience in the Global Engineering RAP. However, what I can say is that even after learning about the program’s general opportunities and offered courses, there is still much in the unknown with regard to my experience.

Though I am mostly unaware of what my future will look like during the program, I am prepared to take full advantage of any opportunities placed in front of me. I’m naturally opportunistic. This, accompanied by my curiosity and enthusiasm, will lead me to immerse myself in the program mentality and culture. Hopefully, it will also lead to my experience of foreign cultures and innovative landscapes as well. Not only these, but it will also lead me to grow my network and find people that I want to surround myself with for the rest of my life. My father, a huge proponent of my growing ambition, tells me that “one opportunity bears the fruit of more”. For me, the Global Engineering RAP through CU Boulder is that opportunity. I’m ready to think on a global scale.
