In the summer of 2019, I was fortunate enough to attend an envision program for National Security in Washington D.C.. The program consisted of putting around a hundred+ teenagers in large hotel. We attended classes learning about national security and the government. In this program, I met many people I have never met, attended classes with them, toured the Smithsonian museums, the Pentagon, and the Capitol. At the end of the program, we all collaborated on a large project which had us assign ourselves as different roles/people of the government. We worked together to solve a problem which entailed shutting down a computer virus in the government. Overall, I view it as an experience which prepares me to meet and collaborate with new people I have never met before.
Someone who is respectful, kind, willing to collaborate. Someone who has different cultural experiences than me which adds a more diverse dynamic to the RAP.
I think that a crucial part of being an engineer is to collaborate and work with others. Being in a RAP will feel more like being in a community. I would love to learn about different people's backgrounds and be able to work with them. Personally, I would try to make connections and friends in the RAP, and provide a positive and cooperative vibe in the residential community.
