I'd like to travel the world with a purpose that I believe in. I believe in engineering. I believe that millions of scientists, scholars, and thinkers around the world can be united together for their love and passion for engineering, and I'd like to be a part of contributing to the global society with this program in order to create solutions and make a change.
Of course, Engineering is an international field, and I’d love to be in a community with like-minded people willing to travel to create change, because that speaks about dedication, and with dedication comes solutions.
A lesson I learned from observing certain people in my life was that you become what you surround yourself with. If I’m given the opportunity in this program to surround myself with engineers within that visionary caliber, then It’s undeniably an opportunity I can’t miss. It’s a real chance of making a difference, whether it’s benefitting Boulder’s lovely local community, or the entire world.

What do the Pyramids and the Sydney Opera House have in common? Well obviously they’re both buildings, but the culture surrounding their foundation and architecture were as distinct as a software engineer and a neanderthal priest. One used brute force and instinct, the other… well, also used brute force, but with better documentation. Different places blend different cultures, and Engineering, at its core, isn’t just about solving problems, it’s about how different minds, and ultimately different cultures, approach those problems. If MMA has taught me anything, it’s that borrowing techniques from different disciplines makes you better. Just like wrestling alone won’t win a fight (unless you’re Sadulaev), engineering without global perspectives is missing half the equation.
From what I’ve observed, the greatest innovations don’t happen in isolation, they come from ideas colliding, adapting, and evolving through global communication, and that’s why I believe international experiences and perspectives can further provide solutions in the field of engineering.

At the end of the day, I’m constantly working on myself everyday in order to reap the rewards and benefit myself, as well as others, so the reason I chose engineering as my college path was originally because I wanted skill acquisition. I was already good at Cybersecurity, Programming, Athletics, and a dozen other things, but I discovered that this field has the most “valuable” college degree, and that’s because a college degree in engineering can never be replaced with online courses. Partly due to the sheer amount of knowledge put into 4 years with a delicate mix of observation, theory, application, and experimentation. Another is through the ridiculously available opportunities to network with such a large global network of engineers.
With that being said, I believe within my future interests to research, develop projects, travel, and participate in international conventions, like the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions and ITEX, that this program in addition to the college of engineering will perfectly align in order to assist me in my journey.
And just as I expect to gain from this community, I know I’ll bring something to it. My tenacity and persistence in any given project are what drive me, I don’t give up, and that mindset benefits anyone working alongside me. Whether it's tackling a technical challenge or just keeping the energy high in a group project at 2 AM, I know I’ll be a valuable part of this community, and any other community that I’m in.
