Research interests: I am interested in furthering research in white matter imaging using diffusion MRI. I am passionate about using diffusion imaging techniques to better understand the normal and abnormal functions of the brain. By investigating the white matter and axonal connections, we may be able to identify conditions and pathologies earlier than previously thought and start or modify treatment on an earlier time course. The CUChange Lab is a great place to investigate under-represented populations to better understand cannabis use, alcoholism and associated relapse therapies from many different angles. With the implementation of multiple imaging modalities and other metrics, a more comprehensive picture can be assembled to better understand the physiological changes that occur in these populations and ultimately lead to more successful therapies and treatments.

About me: I was born and raised in Boulder, CO. I am a United States Air Force veteran where I served as a medic. I enjoy hiking/backpacking in Rocky Mountain National Park in my spare time. If I am not out hiking, I can usually be found in a local bowling alley working on my game or coaching youth leagues. I am also a member of the veteran disaster relief organization Team Rubicon, and occasionally deploy to disaster areas to help rebuild communities after major catastrophic events.
