Srikanth S. C. Madabhushi
Associate Professor
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING & GEOMECHANICS
Dr. Madabhushi is currently an Assistant Professor and Faculty Director of the Centrifuge Facilities within the Center of Infrastructure, Energy and Space Testing. He completed his undergraduate and graduate schooling at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom and was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California, Davis before joining the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2020. His research group, the ‘Boulder Geomechanics and Geohazards Research Group’, strives to improve the sustainability of our infrastructure under geohazards by engineering with – not against – the complex response of geomaterials. He is passionate about physical modeling, and in particular using geotechnical centrifuges, to understand fundamental geostructural mechanisms and innovate design approaches. Current centrifuge research includes the design of earth retaining structures and dams under earthquake loads, coastal infrastructure under extreme wave loads, and landslides triggered by environmental changes.
